Do you have an instrument sitting in your closet that you are not playing?  Or are ready to upgrade your instrument and find a new home for your old one?

Community Music Centers of Atlanta partners with the Global Village School in Decatur, offering many of these refugees from areas of conflict around the globe lessons through the CMC's Core Program at the Decatur Music Center.  Students learn to master a musical instrument of their choice, to read and understand music, and ultimately, how to express themselves through music.  For many of the students, music lessons and classes are an enjoyable extracurricular activity, but also another way for them to integrate and to sharpen their developing English skills.

As of early July, the areas of most critical need are: pianos and keyboards, guitars, and a cello bow (though we wouldn't mind a whole cello).

If you have a playable instrument you would like to donate for Global Village students, please call (404) 614-0466 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
